Over the past few years, planning dinner became as simple as remembering to order meals ahead of time. It’s a trend that continues to grow into 2017. Food delivery services like Blue Apron and HelloFresh deliver the necessary ingredients to make dishes like roasted broccoli and fregola sarda and New York strip steak with truffled mashed potatoes and green beans almandine. The ingredients arrive at your doorstep via various subscription plans that frequently include local and seasonal ingredients. But in addition to the popular services you might have heard about through ads and on social media, there are several other unique options on the market.

Here are four to know:

Sun Basket

Sun Basket features clean food for a variety of dietary needs and offer Paleo, vegetarian and gluten-free options. Sun Basket’s produce is certified organic and non-GMO, and the meats are antibiotic and hormone free. For $9.99 or $11.49 per serving — the price depends on how many meals the customer orders — ingredients for meals such as orecchiette with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe, and chickpeas and kale with za’atar, poached eggs, and naan are shipped up to three times a week. Plated

This service offers 11 meal options each week, including Tuscan chicken with sun-dried tomatoes and crispy potatoes, and white pizza with crispy Brussels sprouts and balsamic glaze. Plated also offers dessert options, one of the few companies to do so. And like many other services, the menu is rotated to reflect what ingredients are available seasonally. Plated meals cost about $12 per serving. For more: plated.com

Sprinly

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Sprinly delivers plant-based meals to its customers. For $109 to $329 per week, Sprinly will deliver meals like zucchini pasta with plantballs and cashew “parm” and eight-spice soup with kale and root vegetables. None of the meals require any preparation. Sprinly, which only uses organic ingredients, is designed for the customer who wants to eat clean, but doesn’t always have the time to cook. PeachDish

PeachDish is perhaps one of the most unique meal delivery services on the market. Founded in 2013 by Atlanta native Hadi Irvani, PeachDish plays into its Georgia roots by offering several Southern-style dishes and sourcing all of its ingredients from Georgia farmers. PeachDish also allows consumers to buy specific meals or ingredients instead of buying a subscription and each meal kit aims to teach consumers how to cook from scratch. Two servings of meals like mushroom and white bean quesadillas with caramelized shallot crema and hearty minestrone with beef, kale and white beans typically cost around $25. For more: peachdish.com
