Water testing services
The pitch: BioSafe Systems offers water testing services for horticultural irrigation water to help growers develop customized water treatment programs. By processing and examining samples, the researchers in the BioSafe Systems lab can determine accurate species and counts for any pathogens or algae found in irrigation water.
BioSafe Systems’ in house plant pathologist reviews the bacteria, fungi, and algae results in collaboration with BioSafe Systems’ technical representatives. Together, they customize a personalized water treatment program tailored to fight specific disease issues and improve water quality.
BioSafe Systems offers three different water testing packages:
A one-time service provides an accurate report of water issues, and a BioSafe Systems technical representative will develop a customized water treatment program.
With a three month service package, growers receive an initial testing and customized program - plus two months of follow-up tests and results for tracking the customized plan’s progress.
The year-long package offers the initial testing and customized program, as well as monthly reports for an entire year.

Hydroponic lettuce system
The pitch: Growers Supply has expanded its line of hydroponic growing systems by introducing commercial-sized Grow-Tek NFT Lettuce Systems. These systems are ideal for growing lettuce, herbs and other small-leaf varieties on a commercial scale.
All systems are constructed from UV-stabilized, recycled plastics for long life and durability. NSF-certified for safe use, all systems provide support for growing channels and connecting hardware constructed from galvanized steel. These systems are ideal for smaller-leafed varieties of lettuce and herbs because the narrow, smaller channels accommodate the root systems of these types of produce.
Grow-Tek Commercial Systems come complete with a nutrient supply system to provide the necessary levels of nutrients to all plants. Plumbing and pumps needed to control the amount of nutrients the plants receive are also included.
