During this year’s California Spring Trials, Sakata featured some container combinations filled with stunning edibles that it called “pretty, practical and tasty.”
This combo includes (top) Mustard Deep Purple, (middle) Arugula Adagio and (bottom) Lettuce Vulcan.
- Deep Purple mustard has a lovely, rich color and an interesting leaf shape. Deep Purple also features a spicy mustard taste. Great for ornamental or edible markets.
- Arugula Adagio has a strong, zesty flavor compared to other arugulas. Adagio is a uniform strain and is slow to bolt. The leaf is a strap-leaf type with a deep green color. This variety of arugula was bred by Purdue University.
- Vulcan lettuce has a brilliant red color on a lighter green background. Its vigorous plant is uniform and holds well. Vulcan packs out well and shows off better color than other red leaf types.
