Cannova Casa
Cannova Casa is a new program to help sell canna in a tropical form and inspire their use in a new way. The tagline is “Mi canna, Su canna” to show how the plants brighten up the house, garden, balcony or patio.
It’s versatile as well, working both indoor and outdoor spaces. They should be kept indoors before frost and can be outdoors in a large pot or soil after the last frost. Takii is only launching the Bronze Peach right now.
In other canna news, Takii’s cannas are becoming more compact with Cannova Canna F1. The new color is Rose, brings the total number in the line to 11, with more to come. The South Pacific Canna also had two new colors join the lineup — Yellow and White.
Gold Medal zinnia
Zinnia Belize, a new series from Takii, was selected for its naturally compact and branching habit. It’s early to flower and offers excellent heat tolerance. This compact series does not need PGRs. Good for packs and pots, market it to consumers for use in containers and landscape beds. Colors include Cherry, Orange, Rose and White. Also available in a double flower series, it mirrors the characteristics of Zinnia Belize. Belize Double is available in Orange, Rose, Scarlet, White, Yellow and Formula Mix. Belize Scarlet earned a Fleuroselect Gold Medal.
Seed for the Belize series is currently limited but will be more widely available to growers in 2024.
