Gotham Greens has announced the opening of its first facility in the Southeast U.S.
The facility, located in Monroe, Georgia between Atlanta and Athens, Georgia, is a 210,000 square foot facility to “retail, restaurant, and foodservice customers throughout the region, including Whole Foods Market, Publix, Harris Teeter and the Fresh Market.”
The company says the facility is the “largest, most technologically advanced greenhouse” they’ve ever built and “enhanced automation, climate control and data science capabilities to ensure that our greens are not only delicious, but also consistent and reliable for our customers.” It also features technology that allows the greenhouse to adapt to the humid Georgia climate.
The facility will produce both leafy greens and herbs. Products slated for the facility include Coastal Crunch lettuce and family pack sizes of Gotham’s Butterhead and Gourmet Spring Mix.
