OHP announced a heightened partnership with Certis Biologicals that gives OHP exclusive, sole source distribution rights to all non-crop Certis products, including all BotaniGard and Mycotrol Mycoinsecticide products, in the U.S. effective immediately.
With the terms of the agreement, OHP also receives exclusive access to the Certis pipeline of new technologies for non-crop markets including the nursery, greenhouse, turf and ornamental, and cannabis markets.
Certis, a part of the AgriScience Division of Mitsui & Company, is a pioneer in the development of biological pesticides and is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of biopesticides.
"OHP is excited to have exclusive representation of the BotaniGard and Mycotrol brands along with the other Certis-based products into the non-crop markets in the U.S.," says Ron Ostrander, OHP's vice president of commercial operations. "Our plans are to feature these quality products through our unmatched marketing and technical support efforts plus the end-user focus of our technical sales managers."
As part of OHP’s BioSolutions, formed in 2017, the BotaniGard and Mycotrol brands give OHP further solutions for the ornamental and controlled environmental agriculture (CEA) markets. OHP BioSolutions features products specifically designed to address the growing segment of green growers, who focus on non-chemical or softer means of pest control.
"We have added personnel who have functioned in the CEA space for many years so it’s a natural expansion of our BioSolutions," adds Ostrander. "Moving forward, we will add more people who have experience in both the ornamental and CEA areas."
BotaniGard and Mycotrol, both Beauveria bassiana-based products, are broad-spectrum, broadly labeled insecticides that provide control of many insect pests including thrips, aphids, psyllids, weevils, whiteflies, mealybugs and other key pests.
