Sonny Perdue to keynote Impact Washington

According to a press release, U.S. secretary of agriculture Sonny Perdue is set as the keynote speaker for the 2019 Impact Washington Summit form AmericanHort. The event takes place Sept. 16-18 in Washington, D.C.

“Secretary Perdue is a steadfast champion of agriculture community both in the President’s cabinet and on the world stage,” said Craig Regelbrugge, AmericanHort senior vice president for advocacy and research, per the release.  “His tireless advocacy for horticulture and his depth of knowledge make his presence a fantastic addition to this year’s already exciting Impact Washington Summit.”

Additional speakers include:

Andrew Wheeler, administrator – U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
Daniel Garza, president – The LIBRE Initiative
Laurie Flanagan, chair of the H-2B Workforce Coalition – on behalf of AmericanHort
Lynn Jacquez, managing partner – CJ Lake, LLC

Legislative and regulatory priorities at the Impact Washington Summit will center around workforce and transportation issues, research funding and implementation, and business and marketplace regulation.  .
