Square Roots has launched a new product: Lemon Basil. The company says it "provides a refreshing twist on the classic herb, perfect for elevating any dish with its bright, zesty flavor."
Lemon Basil joins the company's line of herbs, which includes basil, cilantro, dill and parsley. Square Roots also produces a line of salads and microgreens. It is grown pesticide free and with no GMOs.
According to the announcement, Square Roots did customer research to test multiple seasonal basil varieties. Lemon Basil was the top performer with 90% of those polled saying it was "good for a variety of dishes" and "offers something different."
It will be available from May 15 through Aug. 15 at select retail locations. The product is being produced at Square Roots' facilities in Kentucky, Ohio and Wisconsin. It comes in a 2/3 oz. package for a suggested retail price of $2.49.
