Wadsworth Control Systems has released Predictive Weather, a service that enhances the Seed control system with advanced, proactive weather forecasting.
Using precise, localized data, Predictive Weather anticipates and reacts to shifts in temperature, humidity, wind and precipitation — before the weather reaches the greenhouse.
This feature enables Seed to automatically close vents, adjust fans and take other protective measures to safeguard crops and structures well before rainstorms or high winds arrive.
“With Predictive Weather, we go beyond standard monitoring to add a new layer of protection, giving growers peace of mind against the elements,” said Tyler Whitley, head grower at Station 10, Bonnie Plants.
Key features include:
- Localized weather input tailored to grower location
- Automated actions to protect greenhouse structures and crops
- Cloud integration for real-time updates via Wadsworth Cloud
“With Predictive Weather, our Seed control system adds a new level of proactive protection. Whether you’re on-site or not, the system takes timely action, ensuring optimal conditions for both plants and infrastructure,” Whitley said. “The system even allows us to maintain airflow on the downwind side during high winds, adding flexibility and peace of mind.”
